Chapter: | IV - General Administration |
Subject: | Security Of Fire Stations |
Code: | 1-IV-30 |
Revised: | 6-10-96 |
To establish guidelines relative to the general security of Fire Department Stations.
A. The general security of the Station shall be the responsibility of the on-duty Officer-In-Charge and shall be carried out by his/her designee or the Dispatcher.
B. By 2100 hours all doors (front, back, and side) shall be locked.
C. By 1800 hours the keys to all department vehicles parked outside shall be brought in and said vehicles shall be locked.
D. After 2100 hours, Officers-In-Charge shall provide personnel to secure stations. This means that when a company responds to a call, the doors will be closed and upon the company's return, the doors are opened to allow personnel back into the building. Station security will not be jeopardized because of the lateness of the hour.
